I will be sharing my cancer story to support an event being put on by Sarah Sullivan, the Program Manager for the Cancer Prevention in Action project for Oneida, Madison, and Herkimer counties in New York State. The event which is being held at Utica College will show the documentary: “Someone You Love: an HPV Epidemic.” This project will hopefully increase awareness regarding HPV, HPV Oropharyngeal Cancer, and the HPV vaccine.
I will share my story during this full day conference which is directed towards school nurses, public health nurses, healthcare provider nurses, and other community partners in Chenango County, NY.
As a result of this webinar, the participant will be able to:
Understand the burden and epidemiology of oropharyngeal cancer as well as the natural history from HPV infection to oropharyngeal cancer.
Understand the difference between oral cancers and oropharyngeal cancers.
Learn how to address common questions about oropharyngeal cancer and HPV vaccine.
Understand the process of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from oropharyngeal cancer from a cancer survivor’s perspective.
